Our environment is a cosy and nurturing space which has been designed to promote curiosity, awe and wonder in early childhood.
The team work hard to make the nursery environment inviting and inspiring by offering open-ended, natural and ‘real’ objects and resources for the children to add their own imagination and creativity.
We look to the EYFS and principles from the Curiosity Approach to support our curriculum, currently we have worked on the curriculum and it’s INTENT, IMPLEMENTATION and IMPACT to ensure improved teaching and learning across all of our age ranges. We provide wide range of experiences that are appropriate for babies and young children’s age and stage of development. We plan all learning through active, first hand experiences where time is given for sustained play to explore, experiment and discover within a social environment. Our curriculum continues to have a focus on developing children’s speech and language and communication skills.
We aim to establish positive relationships with our families right from the beginning. We offer home visits to meet the children before completing settling in sessions to ensure our children feel safe and secure before beginning their nursery journey with us. We pride ourselves on our Family Learning Programme- You will see this when visiting our Parent Partnership page!
We are passionate about promoting the love of reading in the early years, our setting completed the ‘Living Books’ programme in 2017. We support this by having a Core Collection of storybooks in the environment which our children become familiar with, each book was carefully selected by our highly qualified staff team. We have developed a ‘Lending Library’ for our families which supports early reading at home- All parents are invited to come along to our Live Library session every month with their child to enjoy a bedtime story read by a member of the nursery team.
